T1&T2 – Long Thanh Airport’s Key Routes Nearing Completion
The **T1 and T2 roads**, crucial access routes to Long Thanh International Airport, are nearing their completion, with **technical operations expected by December 19, 2025**, and **commercial operations planned for 2026**. These projects represent a significant investment of **over VND 2,630 billion**.
### Technical Specifications and Progress
**Route T1**, the western connection road, spans **4.3 km** and connects National Highway 51 to the airport, including important multi-level intersections with National Highway 51 and the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway. This route was **technically opened to traffic on April 30, 2025**.
**Route T2** is **3.5 km long** and features **four lanes**. It serves as a connecting axis from the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway to Route T1, leading directly to Long Thanh Airport. This route runs parallel to the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway and is considered the northern gateway to the airport.
The main construction work for both routes is **largely complete**. Current efforts are focused on final touches such as **installing lighting, planting trees and grass, and reinforcing slopes**.
### Contractors and Timeline
The **construction of Routes T1 and T2 began in July 2023**. While Route T1 was technically opened in April 2025, the completion of Route T2 is **aimed for the first quarter of 2026**. However, other reports indicate that **both T1 and T2 are largely complete by mid-December 2025**, with contractors working to finish remaining tasks within December.
The successful completion of these access roads is vital for the synchronous operation of Phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport. The airport itself is designed to be a modern, smart, and environmentally friendly facility, meeting international 5-star standards.
